Overview Job Location: Sacramento, CA Secondary Job Location(s): Elk Creek, CA; Red Bluff, CA Position Type: Per Diem Salary Range: $30.00 - $35.00 Hourly Travel Percentage: Up to 50% Job Category: Athletic Trainer Job Summary Wellness Solutions, a WorkCare Company, is seeking experienced Wellness Coaches to join onsite screening and wellness coaching events for first responder clients in California. Additional screening and wellness coaching events are scheduled at various locations throughout California. Events take place on weekdays during normal business hours (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm PST). Each event ranges 3-5 days in length. A flexible schedule and full-day onsite availability for the duration of the event are required. FMS (functional movement screening) experience is required. FMS Level 1 or higher certification is highly preferred; if not currently certified, the candidate must be willing to obtain FMS certification within the timeframe specified in the offer letter. This role requires regular travel throughout California to support and attend events, meetings, and engagements. Travel will primarily occur between September and June, with locations varying across the state. Candidates must be comfortable with frequent travel and have reliable transportation. Event Dates and Locations: November 3 – Elk Creek, CA; November 4-6 – Red Bluff, CA; November 7 – Elk Creek, CA. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct on-site fitness screenings including blood pressure, body composition (BIA), FMS (functional movement assessments), and other screenings following ACSM guidelines. Conduct virtual wellness consultations/follow-ups regarding test results, exercise programming, injury prevention and rehabilitation, nutrition and weight management, stress management, blood pressure, cholesterol management, and health education. Provide additional follow-up services to medium to high risk individuals. Enter data to track program participation on the wellness platform. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Nutrition, or related field required. FMS Level 1 or higher certification highly preferred; must be willing to obtain certification within the timeframe specified in the offer letter if not currently certified. Certified ACSM Clinical Exercise Specialist or Certified by the American Society of Exercise Physiologists (preferred). 3 years of experience providing wellness and fitness testing services and wellness coaching, preferably with first responders. Fitness testing experience (VO2 Max, FMS, etc.) and fitness-related certifications (CPR, ACSM, NSCA, CES, etc.) are required. Skills and Competencies Outgoing and personable with a passion for health and wellness. Flexible schedule to accommodate participants. Strong background in injury prevention. Strong health and fitness knowledge. Self-starter with the ability to work independently. Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality. Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to create and edit written materials. Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences. Ability to organize resources and establish priorities. Demonstrates cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors and clients. Strong time management, organizational, and follow-through skills. Ability to meet and exceed daily/weekly performance goals. Ability to work independently as well as assist other team members when needed. Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality. Computer Skills Competent in Windows, Adobe Pro, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn other software as needed. Physical Demands Requires sitting and standing for long periods. Ability to kneel for extended periods during emergency care or CPR. Some bending, stretching, and crouching required. Travel is required. Working under stress and use of computer/phone required. Manual dexterity for computer/mouse use. Ability to lift/move up to 20 pounds and climb stairs. Work Environment Mainly indoor, office environment conditions; noise level usually moderate; air quality good and temperature controlled. For virtual consultations: environment must be free from background noise and distraction; home setup must meet company IT, privacy and safety requirements. This position has an hourly pay range of $30 - $35 per hour. Final compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.
