The opportunity

Delaware North Gaming is hiring full-time Housepersons to join our lodging team at Southland Casino in West Memphis, Arkansas. As a Hotel Houseperson, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily cleaning of hotel public areas, rooms, and restrooms in accordance with operating standards.

What will you do?

• Notify managers if major repairs or additions to building operating systems are needed 
• Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties 
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors and steam clean carpets 
• Drive vans, industrial trucks, and other vehicles required to travel to or perform cleaning work 
• Remove dirty linens and transport clean linens to housekeeping carts and storage closets 

More about you

• 1 year working in the hospitality industry preferred 
• High school diploma or GED preferred 
• Working knowledge of various cleaning utensils, dryers, vacuum cleaners, tools, and fixtures 
• Ability to make simple addition and subtraction calculations 
• Must be at least 21 years of age

Physical requirements

• Frequent walking, standing, and kneeling for the entire length of the shift 
• Use of hands to operate cleaning equipment and complete washing duties 
• Able to lift to 50 pounds 
• Visual acuity is sufficient to inspect the cleanliness of rooms and surfaces 
• Working conditions include being regularly exposed to fumes and toxic or caustic chemicals
