Overview Career Coach - Career Pathways role at Inside Higher Ed. Job No: 536380. Work Type: Full Time. Location: Main Campus (Gainesville, FL). Categories: Academic Advising/Support, Student Services. Department: 04040000 - SL-CAREER CONNECTIONS CENTER. Responsibilities Serves as a career coach by delivering individual and group career planning services to UF students. Supports career clusters by facilitating individual career planning appointments, drop-in services, and small group coaching for undergraduate and graduate students based on industry-specific knowledge. Facilitates customized career education workshops, for-credit course material, and large group programs; implements elements of the Career Action Plan and career development theory to workshops and programs. Provides direct service or coaching through center-wide series and cohort programs focused on the professionalization of students. Customizes existing C3 marketing materials and resources for specific populations. Facilitates external career development programming and outreach to student organizations, campus partners, and faculty to promote career services and the Career Connections Center. Coordinates day-to-day outreach administration and handles logistical functions to support career education programming including scheduling, reserving space, ordering supplies, and communicating with attendees. Engages with employers to facilitate their participation in industry education activities such as C3 workshops, outreaches, events and conferences. Maintains relationships with industry partners to increase employment connections for UF candidates and help students prepare for successful applications or interviews. Aids in maintaining quantitative and qualitative records for assessment and reporting purposes to demonstrate impact; responsible for tracking and reporting on student engagement. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of career development trends. Performs other administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor and higher authorities in the department and division; lives out the career center's values in all job functions. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Master's degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience. Preferred: EDUCATION & TRAINING: Master's degree in marketing, social sciences, student personnel, or human resources (HR) Experience: Two (2) years of experience (minimum) in stakeholder engagement, marketing, sales, career development, career counseling, or HR Experience working inclusively with a variety of populations Knowledge: Knowledge of industry relations, employment trends, student development, career services, marketing, and outreach strategies Skills: Skilled in computer applications Facilitative skills - Interpersonal skills Good presentations skills, listening skills, helping skills, relationship management, and program development Abilities: Ability to work independently and contribute to a team Physical Qualifications: None noted Other Qualifications: None noted Special Instructions To Applicants In order to be considered, you must upload your cover letter and resume.
